SAE class

The SAE class indicates the brightness and thus the warning effect of a strobe. Three classes are subdivided.

Class 1:

Very bright strobes for use on emergency vehicles of the police and fire brigade. These are bright enough to be easily visible even in daylight. The brightness corresponds to approx. 4x the brightness of class 2 strobes.

Class 2:

Normal brightness flashing strobes.

Class 3:

Strobes for use in buildings (warehouses) and in dark places, such as in mining or for pure night-time use. The brightness corresponds to approx. 40 percent of the brightness of class 2 strobes.
