Backup alarm

Reversing alarms are audible signal devices that automatically emit a warning signal when a vehicle is reversing. They are designed to alert people in the vicinity to a maneuvering vehicle at an early stage, thereby helping to prevent accidents.

Reversing alarms are particularly common on industrial trucks, construction machinery, commercial vehicles, and municipal vehicles. In areas with limited visibility, they contribute to the safety of drivers and people in the vicinity.

Depending on the application, reverse warning systems differ in terms of, among other things:

  • Volume
  • Signal type
  • Operating voltage
  • Mounting type

In addition to traditional warning tones, so-called broadband or “white sound” warning systems are increasingly being used today. These produce a more directional sound that people can often locate more easily than a conventional beep.

Backup alarms are a type of acoustic warning device for vehicles, but differ from horns in that they are activated automatically and are specifically designed for maneuvering and reversing maneuvers.
