EN 12895
EN 12895 is a European standard that regulates the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of industrial trucks. It specifies limits for interference emissions and requirements for interference immunity.
Contents of the standard
- Scope of application:
Electrically powered industrial trucks such as forklifts, tow tractors, or warehouse equipment. - Scope of testing:
Both radiated and conducted interference are recorded. - Immunity:
Equipment must be resistant to external electromagnetic influences. - Legal basis:
Harmonized standard under the Machinery Directive (2006/42/EC) and the EMC Directive (2014/30/EU).
Significance in practice
EN 12895 ensures that industrial trucks do not cause unacceptable interference and at the same time function reliably in environments with high electromagnetic exposure. Manufacturers must test and document their products in accordance with this standard.
